Our sustainability story

I started Luna Design because I wanted to make jewellery and accessories that are fun to wear and thoughtfully made. I’ve always loved bold colours, texture, and playful design—but I also care deeply about how things are made and the impact they have.

The fashion industry creates a huge amount of waste each year, and I wanted to do things differently. I use luxury leather offcuts from high-end handbag and shoe designers—unused materials that are full of potential. The leather is beautiful, durable, and far too good to waste.

Each piece starts with these offcuts. I add colour and texture using printmaking techniques, and because every offcut is different, each item I make is a one-off. That’s what I love about it—every design is as unique as the material it’s made from.

Everything is handmade in my Surrey workshop, using non-toxic adhesives, efficient cutting techniques, and eco-friendly packaging. I keep waste to a minimum and focus on quality and longevity.

For me, sustainability is about being thoughtful with materials, slowing things down, and making accessories that feel good to wear and do good for the planet.
